This election is a crucial test of the depth of our understanding of our energy nature relative to what’s at stake. Come to understand this primal connection.
I hope you enjoy this article. It is long, but meaty, informative, and… hopefully… inspiring!
Letting you know… I will be presenting at Circle of Miracles, 11/17/2024, in person at 10 Beulah Rd, New Britain, PA 18901… and on ZOOM
(CircleofMiracles.org, scroll down and select Sunday Celebration, click on join us on zoom and follow prompts.) The event is 10AM to Noon. Generally speaker begins around 10:20.
The subject is Election: where do we go from here, and how do we get there? What is the higher consciousness response to the election results? Many are happy; many are not. In any event, “spunk” is a good place to start. Remember the Black Knight from Monty Prthon’s Flying Circus? A good example of spunk!
Trying to stay focused. So much to do by the end of the year… including the completion of my book, Who You Are, basically a primer as to what it means to have an energy body and live in an energy universe, interlaced with my own story of how I came to all of this and why on Earth I have spent the last 35 years of my life doing crazy research!
Consequently, I have had visions of electrons dancing in my head.
And, of course, there is an election going on. You can’t get away from it for a minute. It’s everywhere… emails, texts, newsfeeds, popups.
So… if you can’t fight ‘em, join ‘em… thus… this article was” birthed”… with the realization that election and electron share the same root! The thought came and lingered: What could they possibly have in common?
And… poof… my mind went off to the races… and, fortunately or unfortunately, my body followed. (So much for staying focused!) The good news is… much of this comes from or will serve to be part of my book; so… no wasted effort!
I am including references in this piece to quiet the minds of those skeptics and naysayers who would be inclined to contradict or deny, picking flyspecks out of horse manure, or, as the saying goes, “throwing the baby out with the bath water,” and, therefore, missing the main message… as well as clouding it for others.
Everyone, of course, is welcome to their opinions. Just want people to understand the facts behind the conclusions I so painstakingly reached, and enable easy access for further research.
Everybody knows, probably too well at this point, what an election is, but what about the electron? It is a particle which also “… [exists] around the nucleus [of an atom] in "orbitals", which are three-dimensional standing waves.” (1) It is one of three particles within the atom. The atom is the smallest unit of matter.
Mostly everything in the universe, or as much as we understand of it, which is nominal… only 4 to 5 %, is made of atoms. We do not yet have a clue what dark matter and dark energy even are, let alone what they are made of!
The term electron grew out of the term electricity… because of the negative electrical charge attached to it. Both originally come from the Latin electrum and the Greek electron… both words for amber, which has attractive properties. There is speculation that the origin of the Greek word might have come from the Phoenician word, electron, meaning “‘shining light.” Electron - Wikipedia
The term elect, as in election, came, as far as we know, out of the early 1500’s, meaning one chosen or set apart, or as a noun… “one chosen by God.”. (https://www.etymonline.com/word/election)
In either case, it would be safe to say they both, in the most profound sense. could be framed as “Bringers of Light!” (And yes, I know there are smaller particles and that the photon is the smallest particle of light, but… this is not about that.)
“Einstein saw the electron as the leading player in the universe… because most of the activity of the Universe is dominated by energy transfers involving the electron – light and electromagnetic waves.”(2)
Everything we “see” is vibrational waves carrying information that our brains, through the use of mathematical Fourier Transformations, interpret into what we see. The same holds true for what we hear, taste and touch as well.
“… the brain takes input from these highly specialized cells called feature detectors, and somehow fits them together to provide us with our visual perceptions of the world… Spurred on by the idea that the visual cortex was responding not to patterns but to the frequencies of wave forms, he [Karl Pribram] began to reassess the role frequency played in other senses… [he then realized that} over a century ago… Hermann von Helmhotz had shown that the ear was a frequency analyzer. More recent research revealed that our sense of smell seems to be based on what are called osmic frequencies. Bekesy’s work had clearly demonstrated that our skin is sensitive to frequencies of vibration.”(3)
Freaky… right? But… don’t let it frighten you! The world we have come to know hasn’t gone anywhere; it just became a bit more complicated (and, hopefully, fun) to THINK about. Otherwise… it is all pretty much status quo.
Anyway… there’s more…
Since all matter is possibly 99% or more empty space (empty in the manner of… the “stuff” that’s probably there is indiscernible to us)…the question often arises as to why, then, we cannot simply… walk through walls.
“The answer is… the electrostatic force.”(4) It is the policing force that keeps everything inside the atom in order.
The neutral neuron is center in the field, The negatively charged electrons are in the far outfield… whizzing around the furthermost track inside the atom. The positively charged protons, playing the middle field position, kind of keep the electrons in tow… due to the same principle we find in magnetism… opposites attract. Think of the proton as the lovely Juliette and the electron as a lovesick Romeo… keeping a wistful… but safe… distance… following on the heels of the attractive force.
So… all that being said,,, and keeping in mind that the electron mans the outermost track of the atom… when the electrons in my atoms… try to snuggle up against the electrons in your atoms… it is again the principles of magnetism that come into play. My electrons are repelling your electrons and vice versa, and THIS is what we are feeling (among a plethora of other things) every time we try to touch someone or something… that repulsive force (not very poetic, but truth usually stands in the same harsh light as the lights in the airport restrooms).
And no… no matter how hard you try… at this moment in science and the history of the world… you cannot walk through a wall! (Iran Flatow, Science Friday, May the Electrostatic Force be with You, 4/5/2013)
A more recent article explains a bit more about the physiological part of this dynamic. “… The nerve cells that make up our body send signals to our brain that tell us that we are physically touching something, when the sensation of touch is merely given to us by our electron’s interaction with… i.e., its repulsion from… the electromagnetic field permeating spacetime (the medium electron waves propagate through}.”(5)
So… where am I going with all this? Trying to paint a picture.
Whether we accept it, are willing to confront it, or talk, or even just think about it, we live in an energy universe. At our most finite level, we are energy… and we share that same energy with everyone and everything. Separation… is an illusion… a perception reinforced by the everyday reality of living in a world we have come to understand as the sum total; when all it really is… is a part… albeit… at its best… a beautiful, magical, mystifying, enchanting part… but… only several bars in the chorus of the Oneness… which is… The Symphony of the Universe.
This is important to understand because it means not only do we live upon this planet, enjoying, hopefully, all the wonderful gifts this physical dimension has to offer, we are also part of it… as well as part of everything we see, sense, taste, touch or feel around us. And, as such, there are dynamics at work, principles in play, that if we come to understand… we will be able to play this game of life using all the tools available to us.
We are 99.999999999 % energy. Without understanding what this truly means, we are playing the game of life with a huge handicap… like driving a car without being able to see over the steering wheel or touch any of the pedals.
Energy vibrates, which means… everything vibrates… you, me, the large rock at the end of your driveway, the big tree in your back yard, the beautiful azalea out front, the Earth, the moon, the sun, the stars… everyone and everything in the universe… vibrates.
The number of vibrations per second, then, becomes the frequency.
Something amazing to drive home the point… “While we can't directly hear the sounds of planets, our solar system is filled with planetary noises, from the howling winds of Venus to the crashing waves of Jupiter's Great Red Spot. Instruments can record these sounds and play them back for us to hear. The most familiar planetary sounds come from Mars”.(6) “These sounds are wavelike vibrations of air molecules within the range of frequencies our ears can perceive.”(7)
Our Earth has its own frequency, known as the Schumann Resonance. Since, even though this has been scientifically proven, there is always a lot of controversy about whether this is a real thing as well as the effects it could potentially have on people not to be able to access it, I’m giving it to you from the horse’s mouth.
“Schumann Resonances (SRs) are electromagnetic oscillations of the earth-ionosphere cavity produced by lightning activity. Earth can be regarded as a nearly perfect conducting sphere…”(8)
“Many studies have been published describing a broad range of physiological, psychological, and behavior changes associated with changes or disturbances in the Schumann Resonances. A report by NASA Ames Research Center and Stanford Medical School highlights the potential physical and psychological effects from an absence of the Schumann Resonance that naturally occurs on Earth.”(9)

The next decade or so, these healing practices will take on more significance, as we move more and more to energy healing, including such things as the use of ultrasound for treating cancers among other things; and scalar healing, such as is found at the Quantum Healing Center in Jenkintown, PA.
Scalar energy is not a wave or a particle, but a field that permeates everything. “In 2012, experiments at the Large Hadron Collider proved that a scalar field known as a Higgs field permeates the universe.”(10)
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael, the physicist who developed the EES technology used in Jenkintown has said we get the same healing effects… “being out in nature.” This is a link to a very interesting interview that goes into detail about the EES technology, its development, and the potential it has for, over time, healing DNA, a claim which has, incidentally, been confirmed by NASA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7scYmxnW9M&t=3191s&pp=2AH3GJACAQ%3D%3D
You are probably pretty much familiar with the Electromagnetic Spectrum, showing electromagnetic waves and the frequency range of what is visible to us, what we can hear, and what is above and below.
“The part of the electromagnetic spectrum with the longest wavelength and “lowest” frequency is radio. The portion with the shortest wavelength and “highest frequency” is gamma radiation. Visible light, which is the portion of the spectrum that we can see, is roughly in the middle. It has a shorter higher frequency than infrared, but lower frequency than ultraviolet.” (11)
Radio frequency, which can be picked up by an antenna, is at the bottom of the spectrum, while gamma rays, the highest energy type of electromagnetic radiation and one of the types of high energy radiation used in the atomic blast of Hiroshima, are at the top. There is a huge difference in the type and amount of energy from the bottom to the top of this chart.
There are many vibrational charts available for a whole series of kinds of things: plants, rocks, the human body, the essences for aromatherapy, etc. I think the most fascinating one, however, and the most significant one for our purpose today, is the vibrational chart of human consciousness.
There are tools available for scientific measurement of most things. Of course, consciousness is not one of those things. We are not even sure what consciousness is, where it is, how it operates, how it connects with mind, or, for that matter, what exactly the mind even is… or where it is. Is it in the brain? Outside the brain? Does it reside in the energy body? Is it in the “cloud,” somehow, and if so… what cloud… and where?
There are always more questions than answers. Nothing is hard and fast in this world. Even science is constantly in transformation. New things are discovered, building on the old… or totally separate from everything we ever knew to be true. A paradigm is not a place we, as a species, take up residence forever; it is more of a waystation of thought.
The ancients used psychedelic drugs to achieve states of higher consciousness. There is a theory that this may have begun as far back as man walking upright. There are new conversations being had regarding other possibilities as well, more recent figures in still ancient history… philosophers, scientists, even religious figures… and the concepts and artifacts they left behind… leaving us to ponder. So, a higher state of consciousness has been, even before we had the words to describe it, something to which we aspired!
“The idea that "the higher the vibration, the more powerful the energy" has been a subject of interest in ancient spiritual practices and modern scientific research.”(12) And isn’t that what we saw with the electromagnetic spectrum?
There is a vibrational scale of consciousness developed by David Hawkins, MD, PhD “… who using muscle testing [Kinesiology] conducted more than 250,000 calibrations over 20 years of research to define a range of values. attitudes, and emotions that correspond to levels of consciousness.”(13) There is a scientific theory that posits electromagnetic phenomena as part of consciousness as well as a general resonance theory (GRT) which is a field theory of consciousness. It may be just a matter of time before this is all a matter of fact.
I’ve seen other versions of this chart over the years. The chart I have somewhere but can not quickly put my hands on… shows shame vibrating just above death. Shame on this chart vibrates at 20, guilt at 30, apathy at 50, grief 75, fear 100 ( in my understanding, fear is the flip side of love, and includes all the different embodiments of itself… anger, jealousy, hostility, rage, etc.)… moving up the chart, courage 200, neutrality 250, willingness 310, acceptance 350, reason 400, love 500, joy 540, peace 600, enlightenment 700+. (vibrational chart wikipedia - Search Images) Authenticity is ranked right up there with enlightenment when it involves coming to know who you are at your core… and becoming that person!
You will notice, the lower vibrational states are negative states of consciousness, more dense states of being (making you heavy; weighing you down). Conversely, the higher vibrational states are all about the positive and are less dense, more ethereal, full of energy, of vibrancy, full of light!
Entrainment is a phenomenon by which the “many” sync up with the “one.” Normally, at least in cases of people dealing with issues, trauma, emergency situations or disasters, we are taught to hold the higher vibration to enable those who are distressed to entrain or sync up with the calm, stable, caring and compassionate vibration. It can work the other way, however; consequently, it is important to have the right person at the helm. Institutions of a transcendent nature fervently protect their “sacred space,” not allowing lower consciousness words or deeds to defile it.
Where would you like to fall on this vibrational consciousness chart, personally? Where would you like to fall… as a community… a culture… a nation… a world?
These are not rhetorical questions. They are serious questions; the answers of which have great potential to shape the future. Thus, they require deep thinking, contemplation, discernment, and… they should be your own opinions… yours and yours alone!
Just remember, it all starts with a thought! Everything! The thought is the seed from which all else emanates… emotions, words, actions, eventual habits, states of being, even potentially states of health… everything!
Back to the physical dimension, right now we are most definitely immersed in deepening waters of political rhetoric, strategies, spin, lambasting, dancing deflection, etc., etc., etc., to the point that it often feels like we are being sucked down to the bottom of an ocean of uncertainty by some nightmarish whirlpool of indecipherable gobbledygook.
Elections are important. They give us the opportunity to define a forward path for at least the next four years. The polarization and the competition between the two parties, however, have become so intense, and the political differences so ingrained, that we seem to have lost the finer points of politics… skilled diplomacy, the art of compromise, and even civility.
“Civility goes beyond the act of being polite and showing regard for others. It includes the ability to disagree with others without disrespect, considering the opinions of others, valuing their positions, and truly listening.”(14)
This is the hallmark of true statesmanship!
Having studied Dr. Eric Berne’s Transactional Analysis in some class taken somewhere in my past, I came to understand that etiquette greases and streamlines the wheels of culture, of civilization. Those “pleases” and “thank yous” and seemingly extraneous kindnesses are, in reality, completed-social-interactions which become an uplifting driving vibrational force moving us to a higher level of consciousness. Incomplete social interactions: no smile, no wave, no greeting, no good night, in short… no niceties… have the opposite effect… moving us, sometimes plummeting, in the other direction.
With the advent of social media and the pace of modern culture, etiquette has fallen by the wayside. We “swish” and “kathunk,” our way through our daily lives, using the “smile emoji” as the sum total of any attempt at gentility in communications. It seems getting back to teaching ourselves and younger generations the subtleties of communication would be a good idea because… “As society evolves, so too must etiquette, ensuring its continued relevance and impact in shaping harmonious human interactions.”(15)
Additionally, please consider that… at the highest level of responsibility, if the first impulse is “not”… to reduce someone to a steaming pile of horse manure, punch somebody’s lights out, or get “even”… someone might be more restrained in reaching for that black box that requires multi-level security access to launch codes!
But even more troubling than the missing. refined communication indicative of a highly evolved civilization is the fact that partisan animosity has “doubled over the past two decades… [while] ideological overlap between the two parties has diminished.”(16) This expanding and deepening divide has increased fearfulness, diminishing trust, destroying the concept of “middle ground,”, and even contributing to a kind of perception blindness.
“It has been proven that we only “see” that which we know to be looking for.”(17) Multiple stories, generated by entries in the ships logs of the likes of Columbus, Magellan, and Cook, relate to natives not recognizing ships on the horizon due to never having seen them before. This phenomenon has come to be known as inattentional, or perception blindness. Consequently, “… ships not seen, [has come to refer to] theories, ideas, or viewpoints in front of one’s eyes, but not perceived in the mind.”(18)
How can our mind be open to new and very much needed possibilities, when we live life in an impenetrable shell of preprogrammed beliefs?
"The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking and we thus drift toward unparalleled catastrophe…. We need two hundred thousand dollars for a nation-wide campaign to let people know a new type of thinking is essential if mankind is to survive and move to higher levels,"(19) Albert Einstein.
You may be more familiar with the paraphrased version, more often quoted in various publications in varying forms, such as “We cannot solve the problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”
“Unconscious thoughts and beliefs begin to develop during childhood. They are accumulated from parents, caregivers, teachers and other important figures. They develop from repeated experiences and often become automatic responses (habits). These beliefs are often unchallenged and are accepted as truth… This can lead to a distortion of reality as the unconscious thought and related behavior are never verified to their truthfulness.”(20)
So, in the beginning of our growth into higher consciousness, we don’t know… that we don’t know. We are under the impression that we have all the answers; but… if we pull back a bit… get a little distance from the situation… have a greater perspective… a broader view of the landscape we are contemplating… this may then gift us with an “aha” moment!
This becomes, then… an awareness… which then provides the impetus for the acquisition of knowledge… an awareness of the fact that we don’t really know… in the truest sense of the word… having done our own research… knowing both or all sides of a story… and coming to our own conclusions.
This “coming to know” is what Nobel Memorial Prize winner, Daniel Kahneman, in his book, Thinking, Fast and Slow,”(21) would potentially classify as part of “… System 2… a slower, more deliberate process, requiring us to step back from our immediate circumstances to analyze them in more depth… [as opposed to] System 1… drawing on our vast reservoir of stored knowledge… efficient in dealing with life’s ordinary problems… but… [he] cautions against relying on System 1 when faced with more complex problems…”(22)
Hmmmm… and what is life… especially these days… but… a series of complex problems… requiring research… and creative and innovative thinking. But… this… coming to know… is just the beginning.
Coming to discern… that is a bit more complex… that involves stepping back yet again, analyzing the information gleaned from all sources… and coming to your own conclusions. Doing this, consistently, over time,,. this accumulated knowledge then becomes wisdom… the application of which in our daily lives… leads to real power!
“Wisdom [is] the ability to understand these great systems of life and to follow them with one’s mind and spirit, and Power [is] The ability to follow them with one’s body… working together in the synthesis of mind, body and spirit.”(23) Gregory Ellison
Ultimately… this may separate you from the pack… the group with whom you have bonded… the group in which you have found solace. As your belief systems shift, you may no longer “fit,” comfortably in your old life. As the free and informed thinker you have the capacity to be… emerges… you experience a transformation… somewhat like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. It is a process that takes effort… and courage… but it’s worth any struggle!
"If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."(24) Jesus Christ
Or… as the famous German social Psychologist, Erich Fromm said…
“Man’s main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is. The most important product of his effort is his own personality.”(25)
We have to move from “default” into “’design,” delving into the force that drives us, finding that “who”… of who we are at our core. That realization is our springboard into self-actualization… recognizing that part of our deepest self and acknowledging and expressing it… coming to “be” who we really are! (Authenticity- a very high vibration!)
Religion has become, in certain segments of the political landscape, a big factor in this election. Breaking down the core beliefs of major world religions, “…Aside from the fact that they have different customs and rituals, they all share a set of beliefs that include [among others]… treating others as we would like to be treated, charity and kindness, respect for others, a sense of community… love and compassion, prayer or meditation, the value of self-reflection.”(26)
I see no caveat, exemption, or exception such as… this holds true except under the following circumstances. I mean… if we are going to bring religion into it… then it should apply to the people and the principles across the board. The dots haveto be connected, because, otherwise, what is true on a Tuesday is not true on a Friday; the walls and the floors are in constant flux. It is impossible for us to maintain any stability!
There are many fear-inspiring circumstances that we face, but the biggest one among them is that our economy depends on materials and processes that are at odds with our planet sustaining its own health and well-being and supporting life as we know it.
There are sane answers to all the problems we face, and we have the talent, tenacity and resiliency to solve these issues. But first, we must free up the vast stores of mind potential we have available… to work on our most pressing problems. This would mean extracting them from their “stuck”… often on relative minutiae… positions… or their deflection to political hot buttons often designed to take attention away from other more critical issues.
We have to find the “Middle Way” again, known and cited in pretty much every transcendent philosophy, religion, and spiritual endeavor since the beginning of time. That is the place where we find the answers that serve not only the most people, but also the planet and all the creatures who upon her dwell.
Daniel Quinn, in his book, Beyond Civilization, talks about the force he believes is driving us like a runaway train to the brink of extinction. It is a meme, like a cultural “gene” passed down through non-genetic but strong and influential means, especially imitation: “Civilization as we know it must continue at all costs, and not be abandoned under any circumstance… This meme wasn’t lethal to pharaonic Egypt or to Han China or to medieval Europe, but it’s lethal to us. It’s literally us or that meme. One of us has to go—and soon!”(27)
Yes, of course we have to get a handle on the immigration issue, but this is… after all… America. The line most quoted from the bronze plaque on the Statue of Liberty says, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”(28)
Our inability to transcend geographical, cultural, philosophic, and religious differences, has driven us too often to war (an unattractive trait we share, by the way, with ants, dung beetles, and termites); so perhaps Mother Nature’s answer to this tired, barbaric, chest-thumping ritual might be to lock us… in effect… all in one big room… until we learn to get along!
I saw a picture of a billboard somewhere along some major highway which said,..
“Don’t Make Me Come Down There!”(29) God
We could certainly use some divine guidance and inspiration! Of course, if someone did show up to help us, we would be so filled with fear and suspicion, we would probably throw a net over his/her head and bundle him/her off to Guantanamo.
I am making light of a very serious matter, as even though growth in consciousness should be making war, as a solution to any problem, obsolete, war continues to be waged. Sometimes it is a just response in defense of a nation, but even then, the ultimate goal should be peace, even if, in the end, it requires compromise. More often than not, however, war is about acquisition by any means at any cost, control over the minds and souls of people, or wiping certain people off the face of the Earth.
If you saw kids fighting over a pile of sand, you would tell them, “This is no way to behave!” Who are these people waging these wars? What year is this? Are we moving backward in time? It is all incomprehensible!
Why is waging war NOT a global crime?
“There can be no justice without peace, and there can be no peace without justice.”(30) Martin Luther King Jr.
None of us looked like the original inhabitants of what came to be known as the United States of America, and we did not hold the same beliefs, morals, ethics, or, most unfortunately, their sense of stewardship of the planet and all the living entities who upon her dwell. However, their original intent was to welcome and help us. In fact, “In 1988, the U. S. Senate paid tribute with a resolution that said, ‘The confederation of the original 13 colonies into one republic was influenced by the political system developed by the Iroquois Confederacy, as were many of the democratic principles which were incorporated into the Constitution itself.’”(31) And then, of course, in response to their kindnesses… WE…
“My fellow Americans, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once, too."(32) -- President Obama, November 20, 2014
We so easily forget our humble beginnings. Perhaps a portion of the tax on the ultra-wealthy who benefited the most by IMMIGRATING to this country, or who had parents or maybe grandparents who IMMIGRATED to this country, could go into a fund to help come up with a plan to offset the expenses of helping others who are looking for the same opportunity. Yes, there is a correct way to do this, but… when people are fleeing for their lives, they often do not have time to pack, let alone the energy or presence of mind to deal with the paperwork! Think about… what if… you or someone you love was in that situation? Even if you are wealthy, having money doesn’t mean you can easily get to it… if there is a major disaster. And then there is this for us to consider…
“…Indigenous nations in North America were and are for the most part organized by democratic principles that focus on the creation of strong kinship bonds that promote leadership in which honor is not earned by material gain but by service to others.”(33)
Hopefully… it’s not too late to learn some good lessons from our original benefactors!
Lets delve further into the fear aspect of our current situation. Often it is the unknown which we fear the most. In most cases, a deep exploration of whatever or whoever is unknown… then becomes known… and… voila! Over time, the fear goes away.
We are clinging to a past that does not work in the future.
It is thoughts and words of fear, separation, disrespect, and hatred driving us backwards in evolution.
This is a different millennium facing very different problems, and I would have to think that God must be appalled at the lack of love and understanding with which we approach problems we, as humans, can’t seem to address effectively because we fear change.
The only constant IS change! I don’t know of anyone, for example, who continues to walk around with wooden teeth.
The process of evolution creates many alternatives… then through the process of natural selection… the best ones emerge over time and… rise to the top. (George Land, The Failure of Success, TedX, Tucson)
We need to move from fear into deep thinking to find the most creative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. That reminds me…
I heard a TedX talk years ago from Dr. George Land, He talked about how he and Beth Jarman, in1968, completed a study for NASA… to find the “most creative thinkers to solve the world’s most perplexing problems.”(34) They found that out of 280,000 adults, only 2% fell into that category. Wondering why… where does creativity come from… where does it go… they gave the test to over a thousand kids between the ages of 4 and 5 who were enrolled in a HeadStart program. Then they tested the same kids at 10 years of age… and again at the age of 15. At 4-5 years old, 98% of the children ranked at genius levels of creative imagination. At 10 years old, this decreased to 30%, and at 15 years of age to 12%; and… these results have been verified by additional testing more than a million times.
“What we have concluded,” wrote Land, “is that non-creative behavior is learned.”(35)
He also went on to say that there are two types of thinking which use different parts of the brain. One is convergent thinking. As we become educated, we are more likely to “go to” our stored knowledge… and sit like a fat frog on a lily pad waiting for an even fatter fly to come along… judging… criticizing…comparing what is to what we know to be true. Convergent thinking puts the brakes on creativity… and more-often-than-not… operates from a fear-base… using a smaller part of the brain.
Divergent thinking, however, is taking off the preprogrammed filters and seeing new possibilities, giving our thought process full range… not reining it in. It is dreaming, thinking outside the box, playing the what if scenario. It is becoming the child again… seeing everything as though for the first time. Thinking creatively, the brain lights up everywhere… producing many alternatives.
Fear helps us to survive. After all, the fight or flight response helped us to avoid becoming part of the food chain back in the early days. Now, however, many of us live in perpetual fight or flight as our 24/7 highly-connected culture is always, to some degree at least, in “go” mode. This takes a toll on our bodies, as we are not meant to be in fight or flight mode on a continuing basis. In addition to the physical side-effects…
“As some parts of your brain are revving up, others are shutting down. When the amygdala senses fear, the cerebral cortex (area of the brain that harnesses reasoning and judgment) becomes impaired — so now it’s difficult to make good decisions or think clearly”(36)
There is a study out there being called “… The first neuroscientific evidence for biological differences between liberals and conservatives.”(37)
Basically, the study has proven that conservatives have a slightly larger amygdala, the part of the brain that reacts to fear, compared to liberals. What has also been revealed, although not conclusively, is that conservatives have smaller anterior cingulate cortexes, which relate to error detection impulse control and emotional regulation.
It all relates to the way we think… and what we feel… as a result of what we think; think… being the key word.
“The thought manifests as the word; the word manifests as the deed; the deed develops into habit; and the habit hardens into character; so watch the thought and its way with care; and let it spring from love born out of concern for all beings (38).…
… The words above echo what Buddha said more than 2500 years ago…
‘We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world!’…
…The truth of this verse is timeless: it is truth whether for the past, present or the future.”(39)
“…Matter is just the form of energy that our eyes can see, often known as the “gross” form.. or world. Thoughts are formed of a more subtle [higher vibrational] kind of energy… or matter… which is invisible to our eyes; so thoughts have material form too—subtle material form.”(40)
“Noetic Science, which uses some of the world’s most advanced technologies in its investigations, has proven that ‘Thoughts have mass!’ Daniel Al Said, who authored the article suggested we revisit high school physics.”(41) “Anything that has mass also has gravity.”(42) “Gravity is one of the forces which is an external influence that can change the motion, direction or shape of objects.”.(43)
“Thoughts are not ethereal. They are representations of matter and are encoded in matter. They have shape and weight… Thoughts are forms of information, and all information is physical and relational. It “feels” like something to “have” a thought and to “be” a self because we are that information.”(44)
Are you getting the impression that thoughts are more impactful than we could have ever dreamed possible? It is not a far leap to say they are, in a sense, a sculpting tool with which we impact reality.
The Global Consciousness Project, created originally in the Anomalies Lab at Princeton University, in 1998, now operates as an international collaboration out of The Institute of Noetic Sciences.
They have been collecting data, using Random Number Generators, which, true to their name, generate zeroes and ones in no specific pattern most of the time; except when the world’s attention is tuned into specific events. When this happens, suddenly they see patterns. They have come, over these many years monitoring hundreds if not thousands of world events, to the conclusion that this is not coincidence.
“When human consciousness becomes coherent, the behavior of random systems may change… The evidence suggests an emerging noosphere or the unifying field of consciousness described by sages in all cultures… Subtle but real effects of consciousness are important scientifically, but their real power is more immediate. Large scale group consciousness has effects in the physical world. Knowing this, we can intentionally work toward a brighter, more conscious future.”(45)
”An early student of global awareness was Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, 1881-1955, the French philosopher, Jesuit priest, paleontologist and geologist. Teilhard refined Vladimir Vernadsky's concept of noosphere (the ultimate sphere of consciousness) and conceived the idea of the Omega Point. That's the level of maximum complexity, coherence and consciousness that would be the end point of evolution, he said…
… Aided by technology and prompted by population growth, the earth as a whole would eventually become conscious, embracing and enriching each individual's awareness… solid evidence that consciousness is global and mutual… and could… prompt reconsideration of the assumption… that matter rules…
… what if mind rules?...
Although far from final and definitive, the research suggests that our minds may not be bounded by our heads but somehow extend out into the world and commingle, at least at times.
“What we can interpret from our experiments is that we really are interconnected,’ says Roger Nelson, GCP's Director. ‘Human beings are simply not isolated islands of consciousness.’”(46) He also indicates these consciousness correlations may be flickers of some very faint version of the noosphere… although that may be thousands of years into the future.
With the advent of the “spookiness” of Quantum Mechanics uncertainties regarding reality, many scientists have exchanged with and learned from many mystics across the globe. One of the things we have learned, is to welcome uncertainty… because, first of all, it is a given. Second… living in uncertainty… we are more energetic and inspired!
We have moved into the garden of unintended consequences, due at least in part to our inability to connect with our own inner wisdom, to perceive thru the mindful expansion of our thought process, negating each conditioned response, accessing the purity of our inner wisdom, then projecting each thought which holds potential, each scenario, in a microsecond, far into the future, to determine the long-term effects, choosing that thought, that action, which best keeps us on our chosen path and in a place of peace, and which will, thus, impact the world around us in the best way possible. David Bohm, the physicist, teamed up with Krishnamurti, an enlightened master, and together they developed “Proprioception of Thought,” which I describe as mindfulness on steroids… even as we know where our limbs are in space… coming to know where our thoughts, free of pre-conditioning, are going to take us. Bohm and Krishnamurti see the lack of the application of this as the root cause of where we are today… and developing this talent, getting past the conditioning, accessing the purity of inner wisdom, and then projecting potentials into the future to assess where they are taking us, as the beginning of finding solutions to the pressing problems facing us!.
“We could say that practically all the problems of the human race are due to the fact that thought is not proprioceptive.”(47) David Bohm
“And we think the crisis is outside of us; it is in us. The crisis is in our consciousness.”(48) Jiddu Krishnamurti
We have a very naïve understanding of the power of love. Love is a magical, mystical coherent, healing, uplifting, inclusive, very powerful force. Perhaps we will find it to be a force like the scalar force that permeates the whole universe.
“Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides, and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love. Then for the second time in the history of the world, we will have discovered fire”(49)
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”(50) Martin Luther King Jr
“When a system is far from equilibrium small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to lift the system to a higher order.”(51) Ilya Prigogine, physicist, chemist, and Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry 1977
Harnessing the energies of higher vibrational thinking in being and living… is the greatest weapon we have to defeat consuming darkness and move into the light of higher consciousness, greater understanding, and peace.
I will leave you with this…
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing one obsolete.”(52)
